Well, it's been almost two months since I've written a real blog post, and I'd like to say I've got something good for you, but I'm just stopping by to say hello. I started a few posts over the past month or two (and did publish a few), but otherwise, haven't had much to say lately. Then there's that product roundup that I haven't gotten around to posting for the past two weeks. I need to figure out what I'm doing with this thing.

Here's the deal. I'm a California girl and summers in Chicago are short and sweet. You can see what I'm up to on Instagram, so there are times that blogging feels a little pointless, and when the day is over, I just want to enjoy the beautiful weather.

I've been spending as much time outside as possible. Patios, concerts, street fests, etc. I went paddle boarding for the first time last weekend and plan on going a few more times this summer. If you haven't been, I highly recommend it–so. much. fun.

After talking about it for forever, I finally caved and (leased) a car. You really take the little things like driving to the grocery store or gym for granted when you don't have one. I used to commute about 40 minutes to and from the gym (each way!) and now I'm there in about 10. I feel so free!

The pup is doing really well. He's off his steroids, numbers are great, and because he's been stable for a while now, he won't need his blood drawn every month. We're going back in 2 months and then hopefully lowering his immune suppressant dosage. He'll be on them forever and will need his blood drawn to check his platelets 2x a year. He's at a very healthy weight and the vet says his numbers are fantastic. Very good news for little Buddy.

Doing CF 5x a week was just too much, so I've cut back and added in sweat on state, flywheel, and some running. I still love CrossFit, but 3x a week is much more reasonable for me.

Katie and I finished alpha, and I've been loving Park. I definitely recommend the alpha course to anyone who is interested in learning more.

As you may know, we're collaborating with Interior Define and while I can't say too much, I can tell you that I now need to sell my Serena and Lily chair with additional slipcover (asking $800 for both). Email me if you're interested.

Work is going well! We flew The Everygirl's editors into Chicago for a big team meeting. Such an amazing and surreal experience. Flying to Orlando this week to speak at a sorority conference this week, Lollapalooza next week, and to Raleigh to speak at another conference right after Lolla. One of my closest friends is coming to Chicago next month, and I can't wait to have her here!

  2. I'll be visiting Chicago in mid-late September and I'm crossing my fingers it's still warm enough to paddle board..I'm pushing it, I know!

  3. Sounds like your one busy gal! Loved seeing all the instagram photos from having the editors in town. Out of curiosity -- what sorority conference are you speaking out? I used to work for my sorority (shout out to the Delta Zetas out there!) and I think The Everygirl story would resonate so well with that demographic.
