Come on in

We styled and photographed 3 entries for The Everygirl! Entryway #2 was shot at my apartment, although it was restyled for the shoot [new table & accents]. So now you've [sort of] seen my entry.

Because you love my face so much?

Alaina and I worked on The Everygirl until midnight & I finally started working on this post after cleaning my kitchen. Did you see yesterday's feature? We had lots of fun with that one. Anyway! My post was finished and I clicked to undo my last move, everything vanished & the draft saved before I could get it back.

That sucked.

So I'm keeping this one short and simple because it is now 2:00 am and I am exhausted. Maura and John Stoffer photographed my home for Rue Magazine. They did a lovely job, so we turned to Maura when we needed to photographs for our co-founders page. I suppose I should tell you that I hate hate hate having my photograph taken. I am awkward and do not photograph well. I had the same profile photo for all of 2011 because it was the only photo I had. But Maura is a girl genius who captured my good side. I think I love her. I thought I'd share these with you because a. Maura is awesome and b. You just don't get to see enough of me on the blog. Right? [smile and nod]

I look a little edgy & am wearing both pink and leopard.

Alaina did something to make me laugh. I did a portion of the routine for her. Thank you, Monica and Ross.

Oh, look. It's Alaina in a sea of flowers. She's so photogenic. Her close-ups are bananas.

Told you.

I do love this one.

We laugh a lot.

That's the face everyone makes when they're looking at me.

She makes me want to keep it short.

She makes me want to grow it out.

And they both make me want to work out three hours a day.

My hair has grown out a little [it is just past my ears] and I am at that point where it's time to cut it or let it grow. Any advice/thoughts are welcome.

And...new feature on The Everygirl. I think you'll like this one.

Thank you

On the evening of February 21st, 2012, I found myself sitting at my desk just hours away from the launch of The Everygirl. I hopped in a cab and headed to Alaina's apartment with my laptop and a bottle of wine so we could spend the rest of the evening finalizing a few things and then toast the official launch at midnight. It has been an exciting and exhausting six months and after all that hard work, The Everygirl is here. I hope you love it as much as we do.

Words cannot express my gratitude for all of your support this week. Thank you for the tweets, emails, and comments. Thank you to my dear friend Sarah for arranging a toast to The Everygirl the night of the launch and to all of our wonderful friends who showed up to celebrate.
A few other things...

I wrote this post exactly two years ago today and ended it with: As cheesy as this may sound, figure out what it is you want, and follow your dream. It will be scary but in the end, you will find your place. You might even end up happy.
In case you missed it, we have teamed up with StyleMint, ShoeMint, and JewelMint for a pretty fantastic giveaway. We have also added a bunch of new photos to Pinterest and we're on Tumblr!

Looking forward to this & a day of shopping with Taylor this weekend. Can't wait for a real day off on Saturday!

She is The Everygirl. This is for her.

After pouring six months of my life into The Everygirl, the day has finally come. The Everygirl is live. I have enjoyed every single moment that Alaina and I have spent working together and look forward to seeing where things go in the months to come. The thought that this may inspire so many of you the is what has kept us going. Because this is for you. Until now, it hasn't felt real. But last night I sat by the computer with my heart racing. This is real.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who has supported us the past few months. To those of you who have posted, tweeted and cheered us on. To my friends who lost me to The Everygirl every week. And a very special thank to you to my friend and business partner, Alaina Kaczmarski. I could not have spent 6 months with anyone else without wanting to kill them. Last night, I found myself grabbing a bottle of wine and my laptop so I could be by your side as our site went live. I wouldn't have had it any other way. Thank you for being the best friend and business partner a girl could ever ask for. I couldn't have done this without you.

Cheers to all The Everygirls, everywhere. This is for you.

PS. We are sharing new photos on Pinterest and have officially launched our Tumblr. And don't forget that you can also follow us twitter and facebook!

Thank you all for your excitement over The Everygirl! I expect that I'll need at least 73 lattes as we prepare for the launch on 2.22! I have never been more excited or exhausted in my entire life, but it is a labor of love and we cannot wait to share this site with all of you. xo

Saw these on Crystal's blog via & had to share them with you.

A little love

Thought I'd share a few things I'm loving right now. Keeping it short & sweet! I have some graphic design projects to finish, photos to edit, a newsletter to work on and a website to launch.
I've been on the hunt for some bright and affordable skinnies and I've found them at H&M. $24.95. Can't beat that. How Everygirl of me! Has anyone tried them on/bought them? I'm going to try to make it over there this week.

On Sunday evening Great Aunt Rose called to ask if I believed in Valentine's Day. I said yes and she wished me a Happy Valentine's. Just like Rosie to think ahead / have no idea what day it is. She's in her 90s & is a real pistol. Love her.

Alaina and I went to the opening of BHLDN last night and met Darcy Miller. She is so kind, chic & sincere. Loved meeting her.

I love that most of you think I should get another pup. Buddy needs a pal & I really appreciate your advice. B would meet the pup first & gets along very well with other dogs. He was best pals with my mom's dog but they were split when we moved. Then he became best friends with our next-door neighbor's dog and they moved. Poor Buddy.

I really love Adele.

Happy Valentine's Day! xoxo

Question of the day // for the dogs

I have a confession. I have been thinking about getting another little rescue pup. Here's my pro/con list.

I know that I'd give the new pup a great life but he thought of Buddy being unhappy kills me. What if he hates having another dog around? He has me all to himself but is one very bored little guy. I do not want him to feel replaced by another male so I'd like to get a little lady friend for him. Is that even an issue?

Buddy came to me with a broken leg and had to have surgery for his grade 4 patella luxation. He was on cage rest for 3 months and needed his cast changed at the vet's office every single week. I can handle this.  But I worry about having to train a new dog and messing up Buddy's perfect little routine. I work all the time but I do work from home so I'd be around to make sure everything is ok.

If you went from one to two dogs, I'd love to hear all about it. What were the biggest challenges?

Should I get another dog?

Around here

I treated myself to some fresh hydrangeas last week. They still look lovely!

New love fern from Jayson Home and Garden.

The weather was really nice last weekend. I wore TOMS!

We had a photo shoot for The Everygirl [last weekend].

Sneak peek.

Buddy has been keeping it classy.

I've been drinking lots of lemon water.

And enjoying a little mochi. Bought it at whole foods. The perfect little treat!

Alaina and I had a meeting at Starbucks yesterday.

We had a little fun with these West Elm paperweights. They were out of the letter T.

 It's official. I wear color.
