Hello! And Merry Christmas!


It's that time again! I thought it would be fun to connect with each other this holiday season. Yes–again! So, tell me a little bit about yourself. Who are you? Where are you from? What do you love?   6. You pup is the cutest. I can't wait to get a puppy of my own (soon!).

    I'm Jessica. I'm currently temping but dreaming big (event (weddings...parties...all of it) planning, full-time, pretty please).
    Favorite Christmas movies are easy - Elf and Love Actually.
    I just moved to Chicago in August after living in Madrid, Spain for two years.
    I love traveling, cooking/baking, photography, event planning, potlucks, wandering around whichever city I'm living in and musing at the architecture.
    This year's Christmas will be pretty quiet but I'll probably try some new recipes (not sure which yet) and I'll definitely bake something with peppermint and chocolate!

    Elf, Miracle on 34th Street are favorite Christmas movies!
    Cutting down or digging up our Christmas tree and decorating it with my wonderful Husband and now our brand new daughter is my ABSOLUTE favorite tradition, along with our annual Christmas Eve tea.
    Playing with the pups in the snow and trying to get a Christmas picture with our entire "family" is another favorite tradition!

    ELF, Love Actually and any of those truly terrible made for tv holiday movies (think Lifetime, Hallmark and ABC Family)
    I spend an obscene amount of time wrapping Christmas gifts and have a different theme each year.
    I am pretty sure I drink my weight in hot chocolate this time of year.
    I love my little Affenpinscher, Jovie, who is named after Zooey Deschanel's character on the movie Elf. I also love gnomes!
    My boyfriend's family owns a Christmas Tree Farm that is truly magical. I will be spending Christmas there and with my family as well.

    I am Alexis and I am from Nebraska.
    I am a 3rd year law student with no desire to be an attorney. GASP!

    I'm an IT geek, but I prefer IT geek chic, as I do have social skills unlike most of the individuals I work with!
    I could watch Elf everyday and never get tired of yelling "Santa, I know him!"
    I have three adorable furkids - two boston terriers and a frenchie!
    My husband and I (and the furkids) are road tripping it from VA to South Dakota next Tuesday to spend the Holidays with his family. Don't know anyone from South Dakota? Neither did I until 7 years ago...so now you do!
    I used to do Crossfit and hurt myself pretty bad getting my squat PR. I guess it's good to go out with a bang! But, I do miss it.

    I love the tiny Charlie Brown Christmas Tree I gave my husband when we were first dating. First apartment was too tiny for a regular tree.
    I too am head over heels for my rescue puppy, though he might have actually rescued me.
    I am a home owner for the first time and am having a great time decorating, albeit very very slowly and with a small budget (thrill of the hunt).
    I love hot yoga which makes me feel in shape and grounded.
    I'll be spending Christmas with my mom-in-law in Atlanta.

    I love White Christmas, Miracle on 34th Street, Elf, and claymation Rudolf.
    I have two rescue chihuahuas, Tate Dogovan and FurFur. (One long hair, one short hair.)
    I love hot cocoa with marshmallows, whipped cream, and chocolate sprinkles.
    I have slacked off with my fitness and plan to get back into kickboxing ASAP. (but I'm still downing the cocoa...)
    I'll be spending Christmas with my super small family of five...we are doing a hotel staycation this year for the very first time.
    I love this time of year...the winter smells, the kind smiles, the reason for the season! :)

    I adore my parents and brother!
    I'm 32 but people say I look like I'm still in high school. I'll take it!
    I am married to the most caring, patient, and thoughtful person I know. He makes me a better person.
    I manage TV ad campaigns for Verizon, Jenny Craig, Sandals, Chase, and Reckitt (household products like Lysol, Woolite, etc). I love my job but it makes me a total stressball! I work with an amazing group of women that I respect and enjoy spending almost 10 hours a day with them.
    I love interior design and architecture.
    I love to cook and workout. A bizarre combination.
    My husband and I bought our first home 2.5 years ago. We have done so much work to it and there is so much more to do. I love all of the projects.
    TMI: My husband and I have been trying to have a baby for almost a year. It's not as easy as it seems. It's a very heartbreaking and frustrating process. Hopefully one day we will have our miracle baby.

    I'm 27, but will be 28 in January.
    Born in SC, but currently living in Chicago in Lincoln Park. I moved here in 2010, and love it!
    I work as a concierge downtown, and consider myself super lucky to have a job I enjoy. I get to tell people what to do, where to shop and where to eat for a living! How fun is that?
    I am engaged to one of the best guys around. He and I met in college in SC, but didn't start dating until we both graduated. We have a golden retriever, Reggie, who is hilarious.
    We will be spending our first Christmas in our brand new condo! I will be working during the day, but we'll cook dinner and watch Elf once I get home!

  48. Hi, I'm Abi. I'm 32 and living near Washington, DC. I recently changed jobs/industries and now lead a team of communicators for a national nonprofit. About the time that I decided to make this shift, I started ticking down lists of seasonal foods, drinks and activities to encourage work/life balance. The winter version includes several must-see holiday movies: Love Actually, The Family Stone and The Holiday. The list is about 50% complete; I should be farther along at this point in the season, but Pinterest (@waebaivaehr) and friends keep supplying me with ideas to add. Speaking of Pinterest, I dream about your color palette and of recreating your apartment as my own...in Europe. Thanks for the continuous inspiration.

    I miss MY dog like crazy, and I get to see her for 11 days starting Friday! I am beyond excited.
    I didn't get to go home for Christmas last year, but this year I get a nice, looong break.
    Your blog is one of the first I really started to read, and on busy days, the only one I get to check sometimes.
    I am currently planning a switch to interior design and planning on getting my master's soon.
