Lately.

My Weekend
Drinks with the girls after CrossFit.
Game night at Alaina's apartment.
Much needed low key Saturday. Slept in, cleaned my apartment, did a little organizing. It was lovely
Dinner at Bandera and a friend's birthday at Untitled.
Watched the Bears and celebrated two friends running the marathon at Stout.
It's been way too cold, but I loved wearing my riding boots again.

Currently loving
Vintage luxe canning jars from Jayson.
Downloaded a copy of Civilized Caveman's e-book (paleo, obviously). Everything looks so good.
This mirror from Wisteria. Not sure where it's going to go, but I have store credit so I'm going for it.
Ceramic frenchie stamper from Anthro. I love Frenchies.
Gina posted this dish from PaleOMG.

Health issue/question
Over the past few weeks I've had some soreness behind my upper right rib cage. I haven't worked out since Friday but the pain got progressively worse this weekend. I have a feeling it might be a pulled muscle but plan on seeing a doctor today just in case it's something else. According to google I could have liver damage, crohn's disease, gallbladder disease, or a collapsed lung. Researching medical issues online is fun! I'm pretty sure it's from pushing myself a little too hard at CrossFit. Lesson learned–I don't need to set a new PR every time I walk into CrossFit. Has anyone experienced a similar kind of pain?

...and it's Monday again. How was your weekend?

  1. I would probably stamp every and anything just because it's so damn cute!

Maybe the pain is from a busted rib, or as you said, I pulled muscle. Have you tried taking a muscle relaxant yet?

  5. So many amazing items! I LOVE those jars! As for the pain, I had to laugh at all the things it could be! I had a weird stomach pain a few months ago, looked it up and according to websites I should be dead. Got to love online medical research, HA! Hopefully everything works out for you! My pain was actually a hernia within a stomach muscle due to over working, so you may have something similar! Either way, good luck!

  6. What brand are the boots? Love them!

My advice is to take it easy; I've had both bruised ribs and a strained muscle in my chest from pushing myself too hard. If the pain worsens after the initial 2 days, you definitely need to see a doctor.

    1. The boots are Juicy Couture. They are a few years old and actually sold out everywhere. I happened to find my size on eBay 50% off!

  8. I had the same pain after what I thought was working out too hard... Turns out I separated the cartilage and bone in my rib cage right under my breast area... It sucks and was super painful, but it healed and I definitely took it a little easier working out while healing! Good luck with the doctors!

  9. So I love your site and I love The Everygirl. I have been reading for a while and I see how you mention that you love Frenchies ALL the time. Well, I am also a huge frenchie lover. I own one, his name is Logan and he lights up my life. And, yes, he has a Facebook page. If you want to check it out : http://www.facebook.com/loganbarela

But also, if you are ever interested in getting one, let me know. My mom is a breeder in Chicago and also knows a lot of other really reputable breeders in your area :) My mom's dog just had puppies and they are so cute!

    1. Your dog is really cute. If I were to get a Frenchie it would be through a rescue organization. Buddy is a rescue and it's just very important to me to get another rescue.

  10. Searching medical stuff on Google is a horrible idea for this hypochrondiac (which I will admit to, freely). I look at WebMD and think I'll be dead in the next 5 hours.

  11. My pain (similar, but on the left side) was from costochondritis (inflammation of the cartilage that connects each rib). It's really common in athletes, weight lifters and those who exercise a lot. It flares up every now and again, but any kind of pain medication or 1-2 days rest usually alleviates it. Hope you feel better!
