It's Monday

Monday, May 14, 2012

I spent Mother's Day with my friend Anne and her son Jack. Lunch on Southport, apartment hunting (for me), followed by a lovely dinner. While I had a nice day yesterday, I woke up in a not so great mood this morning. I am stressing over my workload, apartment hunting, being in a long distance relationship, finances, and basically anything I can think of.

While I'd like to hide under the covers, I need to face the day (and week). I have a ton of work to do, am resetting my body with a raw cleanse, and start CrossFit tonight.

What do you do when you feel like everything is hitting you at once? Any tips for me?

  1. I wish I had good tips, but I struggle with that too! Apartment hunting is the worst -- I just spent the last two weeks searching for and checking out disappointing and/or too expensive apartments in Chicago. We just decided to stay in our current place. Maybe next year. Good luck!!

  2. I know the feeling...stress is no fun, especially on a Monday. I'm not sure how much it can help, but here's what I do when I'm feeling super-stressed:

try not to focus on what you (think you) need in order to feel "full." instead, focus on what you DO have in your life, and realize a lot of people most likely look at you and think, "there's something that she's got...that i want"

Hope your Monday improves and hope this can help (at least a little)!

PS -- your blog makes me miss Chicago (just moved to CA from Chicago last Sept)

  3. I definitely know how you are feeling. I'm moving to CT for grad school and apartment hunting from far away is stressful! What raw cleanse are you doing? I'd love info about that as I've been thinking of doing one as well. GL at Crossfit! Prepare to become addicted!

  4. Make lists - I feel like that always helps. Makes things seem easier to manage.

So if you have to much to do then list everything, and start crossing them off and put deadlines.

If you're feeling down - then make a list of 10 things that make you smile regularly.

    Feel better. :)

  11. I make a list of all I need to do and attack 5 a day. I do my best not to stress out if I do not get to it all. I start with priority and keep moving.

    All the best Danielle.

  12. i've been feeling like that a lot lately, especially on mondays at the beginning of a busy week. this morning i got up extra early and had coffee with a friend- it was the best way to start the day, and the new week! treat yourself to a pedicure, workout and sweat, and drink lots of water...you'll feel great! :)

  13. Ugh, I hate that feeling, I'm so sorry! What I like to do is go for a run, watch my favorite show and go to bed early. Yes, what grandma like things to do! But it helps me a lot. Or venting to a friend on the phone works too! (God bless friends!) Hope everything gets better for you, I know it will, and good luck with the cleanse!

  14. Hope your day is looking better Danielle! I can relate to the whole 'when it rains it pours' feeling, so I try to do something apart from the days routine. Taking a spinning class always helps me! There's something about that hour of music and cardio that feels so good.

  15. I had a day like that, just a few days ago. I wanted to hide under the covers and not come out for days.

What helped me through: support and taking one thing at a time. Best of luck!

  16. I heart you, and this will get better. Ask yourself what would give you relief and try to find steps that you can implement to make that happen. Just breathe. Sending love your way.
