The ultimate Chicago guide.

I decided to end Chicago week with some of my favorite restaurants + things to do. I asked a few of my favorite Chicago girls to share their faves as well. So here is the perfect little Chicago guide from us to you. Enjoy!

Best breakfast/brunch: Toast, Yolk, The Original Pancake House + Hub 51

Bristol - insanely good food, also on Damen in Bucktown
Uncle Julio's - on North Ave in Lincoln Park - best guac I've ever had, and I consider myself a connoisseur
Hopleaf - in Andersonville, get the mussels

Shop around Oak Street and Rush - the stores are just so pretty : ) or in Andersonville

De Cero - West Loop
Ranalli's Pizza - Lincoln Park
DMK Burger Bar - Lakeview

Segway Tour of Chicago - I grew up here and this is still a blast, especially because you get to wear reflecting vests and segways are incredibly awkward, plus the coolness factor.

exploring Lincoln Park (the actual park) and all of the city's different entertainment venues. And I'm obsessed with all of the different summer festivals! 

Toro for best sushi in the city plus it's byob. 
Bongo Room has my favorite brunch - the french toast/pancake creations are out of this world. 
Folklore is my favorite place for a steak. Love that you can sit outside and their passion fruit mojitos are delicious.

Shopping up and down Damen. Tangerine is my favorite stop. 
Catching a ball game at Wrigley.   
Margaritas and sun on the huge patio at Big Star.



Breakfast: Jam (on damen, outdoor patio, contemporary food & presentation yet affordable). Bongo Room (on Milwaukee - everything is amazing! Huge portions and great food!)

Lunch: Big Star ( on damen, patio, amazing chips/guac, queso fuendito, and the tacos!!!! Can be a long wait, so go early-which is why I suggest for lunch). 

Dinner: Vivo (on Randolph, delicious Italian, plan group dinner and see if u can sit in old elevator shaft!), Butterfly Sushi (on Madison, my fav local (to my house) patio and low key yet great sushi!). Perennial (on Clark, one of my most memorable meals with the Hubs, outstanding!) 
Dessert: Black Dog Gelato (on Damen, funky flavor combos but amazing taste! Get the Carmel & Goat Cheese!) 

jerrys sandwiches on division in wicker park. i LOVE the variety
piece brewery & pizzeria on north ave in wicker park. i am a sucker for thin pizza and really great appetizers (goat cheese marina is my favorite!)
Noon-o-kabab in Ravenswood. my fiance and his family are Persian so we have been to quite a few different Persian places around the city but this one is the best!

i love to visit the art institute, its my favorite museum in the city and has a lot of my favorite pieces. 
bike rides + mural hunting around the neighborhood

favorite food places:
best bar food: southport lanes (southport corridor)
dinner date: jane's (bucktown)
fun group dinner: avec (river north)

things to do:
the summer festivals (great way to see all the different neighborhoods!)
running along the lake
and in the winter...going to the zoo lights!


 

zed 451 - fun atmosphere, great food + specialty cocktailsand rooftop bar.
sono - lincoln park, some of the best wood fired pizzas i've tried and fab wines
sola - sources locally for meat and produce and the dishes are exquisitely prepared
cafe orchid - great hole-in-the-wall turkish restaurant and byob to boot!

fave things:
i'm with alex on this...shopping
eating out - especially finding great byob spots

Great pics for Chi-town! For my fave things I'd add movies in the park, the architectural boar tour, and eating al fresco (with the long winters here I really appreciate this one). For places to eat I'd add Lillie's Q. And, for places to drink I'd add the Map Room!

This is amazing! You guys all sound up north of where I am, but if you're ever by Jeweler's Row on Wabash, go to Sugar Bliss! It's the cutest cupcake shop I have ever seen. The chocolate peanut butter cupcake is my personal favorite!

I couldn't visit all the places but I think its a good thing though, so I have more reasons to came back again next year.
