Top 10.

10. My photographs were featured on Glitter Guide. Highlight of my week. Alaina did such an amazing job on her apartment. And you all left the sweetest comments! Thank you so much! Means so much to me!

9. Update - she removed the 3 templates that were exact replicas of my designs.

In case you missed all the updates on Twitter, I received an email from someone on Wednesday letting me know that a blogger launched her blog design/social media site that day and had copied most of my pre-made blog template line.  I worked so hard to come up with unique pre-made templates that no longer feel unique. I emailed this girl and her response was to link to a few designers who design blogs that look nothing like mine but offer the same services. Such a valid position.  I completely understand being inspired by something but copying exact designs is not ok. I would love to post screen shots of our designs side by side but don't see the point. Anyone who has seen them agrees that they are copies.

Would love to know how you would handle this situation.

8. Took a day trip to Santa Barbara while I was in LA. Got to visit with the BFF and her boys. Also  stopped by some antique shops in Summerland.

How cute is little Jude? Love those thighs.

8. Girls night with my friend + neighbor Lesley last night. She made a delicious pasta dish and I made strawberry mint ice pops a la Shari. She combined 2 recipes + did an amazing job. Believe she's going to post the recipe on her blog this week. After dinner we started working on a new banner for her blog redesign!

7. Got a much needed manicure/pedicure at my favorite nail place while I was in LA. Essie's flirty fuchsia. Love.

6. I {barely} made my flight on Tuesday but it had Wifi which completely made up for my stressful morning. My suitcase did miss my flight but arrived at baggage claim 90 min after I did. A very stressful 90 minutes. I always keep my jewelry, purse, laptop, iPad, camera + lenses in my carry on but had all my makeup + clothes in my suitcase.

5. I got to spend time with my Milo {at my mom's house} while I was in LA. He and Dex were best pals. I really want to bring him to Chicago. He is the sweetest kitty.

4. Renting bikes with Sarah + Michelle this weekend! Have almost checked everything off my summer bucket list!

3. Meeting Alaina tomorrow to discuss some upcoming projects. Very excited.

2. Girls night tonight. Looking forward to dinner + game night.

1. Let me preface this one by telling you that I do not follow sports. Looked up the Bears schedule and tomorrow is pre-season. Does that mean it's the first game? I told you...I do not follow sports. I can give you endless recaps on my fave shows, though. And I love Chicago so the Bears get a little love on the blog. Buddy wanted to let you know that he loves Da Bears!

Go Bears!

Have a wonderful weekend! Hoping for a better week next week!

I dont even know how to tell you to handle the copier. It is so disappointing that someone would do that. I'm sorry :( At least you have a precious little buddy bears fan to cheer you up!

So sad I'm missing game night tonight! This copycat is annoying me, especially the fact that she doesn't think she is doing anything wrong? wtf. Buddy is so precious I want to squeeze him. And, yay for Lesley's new design! Can't wait to see it!

Happy weekend, xo!

I'm with Liz...YAY for new blog design by the uber-talented you :) Will you send me some of the pics you took of our noodle dish and I'll post recipe next week? See you/talk to you soon!

Awww so sorry about the other person ripping you off!! That is so frustrating. I have not had someone copy my exact blog BUT I have had a few people copy projects I did.. and did not give credit or link back. My hubbs said to take it as a compliment but I that was the last thing on my mind. I can understand how you feel. Hope it all gets resolved and I think everyone knows who the "orignal" is...the rest are all just copycats. Love the nail shade!

What is the deal with these copycats? I've heard several people say that others just rip off their entire blog content. That's crazy! But I'm glad you luggage made it and your nails look pretty awesome :) Have a great weekend!

I think you should let your couple thousand blog/twitter/fb followers kick her butt! We'd show her!

Seriously though - not cool - I'm so sorry you have to deal with this.

Thanks for the shoutout love! Can't wait to see you tonight! Buddy is the cutest, especially in that little jersey. :)

That sure stinks - #9. Sorry that happened to you. But eventually copy cats run out of "ideas" and you have a creative brain that's constantly churning new ideas out. I think you handled it well considering...have a good weekend!

Wow! So much going on here! Milo is adorable and I LOVE SB!! One of my fav places. Super cute nails btw. Regarding the copier...no clue how to handle but must be tough bc online there's so much people can copy. We know who's real!!! :) Happy weekend!

Yikes, sorry about that copy cat. I absolutely hate when people take my ideas for their own. Hope that situation gets untangled soon

So sorry about the copy cat stuff. Not sure what I would do...it's tough. Not fair at all, but how do you deal with it? In situations like this I like to remember Karma. :)

Awww, I love that little jersey on him! We had one for Bear for the University of South Carolina - too cute :-)

And I'm sorry to hear about your blog-design-wannabe-doppelganger. I'm glad that she took them down. Sounds like you handled it really professionally, but how disheartening. It might be worthwhile to save onto those screen shots of her copies, in case she tries to pull it again and you need to take further action and/or she tries to pull a similar thing again. It sounds like you handled it really professionally, though.

Good for you for getting her to take them down. This is why the Internet can be evil. I love your photos!

I'm so sorry this has happened to you. Someone plagiarized my whole text book! It really upset me, and when I tried raising it with the powers that be, the response was pathetic! I'm still double minded about what to do. BTW, that meal looks delicious and that is such a gorgeous nail color!

Is there anyway to copyright your blog and designs? Not sure if this is correct but here is a link I found... http://www.momcentral.com/blogs/mom-central-blogger-university/how-to-copyright-your-blog

Maybe good for everyone to know...

I love your blog! I am curious to know if that Essie polish color is still available. I couldn't find it on their site. Thanks a bunch!

In response to #9. That is not ok. And I would personally be extremely frustrated if the same situation happened to me. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if there's much more you can do. You should feel good about handling yourself with style, grace, and maturity. Something this individual clearly lacks. Remind yourself that you are far more creative than her, or she wouldn't have to stoop so low to copy your designs. And karma comes around...
