I am so excited to feature my blog to IRL friend Sarah of Walking Around Where the Sidewalk Begins. She is smart, funny, creative & independent. Sarah is such a sweet friend. She slept at my place so Buddy would have a friend to cuddle with while I was out of town last weekend. Thanks again, Sarah!

Meaning behind your blog name:
I had moved to NYC from San Francisco and found myself transitioning from a place that had great excursions and escapes on weekend days, to the concrete jungle. What to do? I found myself 'walking around' neighborhoods and doing a little discovery, both on foot in my surroundings and for the soul. I was excited to look ahead for the new adventures and beginnings in my new city. Having always been a fan on Shel Silverstein's Where the Sidewalk Ends, I named it Walking Around: Where the Sidewalk Begins, for all things to good to come.

Current Job:
I'm in sales, I work for a start-up social media company. It's fun and dynamic and at times, stressful - hence, my lack of blog posts lately (sorry;)

Dream Job:
Some days I romanticize that I will buy homes in a better market and reconstruct them beautifully (9 design style) to resell. I would also love to continue to blog and inspire, potentially learning ways to monetize it...(don't we all;) Who knows where this current job will take me, I love the creativity and challenges that keep me intrigued and learning every day.

If I could travel anywhere:
This list is endless - in the US of A, I still want to go to Montana and Alaska...never been. South America would be amazing. And I would adore a tour of Europe, stopping off in Spain, Prague, Italy, Greece, Turkey.

I like to:
Be outside!! Be silly with friends. Cook. Play guitar. Plan trips, Host Dinner Parties, Spend time with friends/family, watch/play sports and see live music.

Something unique about me:
I'm spontaneous...you could pretty much always twist my arm, my friends would say I'm 'always up for anything'. I like to cease the moment.

I watch:
Not much in the summer...I got hooked on Shameless and the Killing recently, loved Entourage and want to get back into Weeds. I can also be found getting sucked into reality television, cooking shows and sporting events.

Listening to:
A bit mellow at the moment... my itunes says most played are...xx, The National, Ray LaMontagne and Phoenix. I also have a killer workout mix that is much faster top 40s and rap;)

I never know the names of nail polish, I think it’s Cajun spice by Essie.

Marc Jacobs in the Winter, Juicy in the Summer

Who or what inspires your style?
Blogger favorite...Olivia Palermo, and I know her;) She's not as mean in person actually.

Favorite trend right now:
Layered jewelry, bracelets and necklaces of all styles. Also, I love when people dare to mix patterns and styles, like super tom-boy with ultra-feminine - it spices it up!

Favorite thing about Chicago:
I love summers here, I have such a pretty view from my balcony in Lincoln Park. There are so many things to entertain – between rooftop bbq’s, running along the lake, outdoor festivals and concerts, great restaurants and friendly people it’s heaven. But if you ask me my favorite thing so far - it's that I met my boyfriend here - you have met him too;)
