Jodee in Chicago.

Friday, April 22, 2011

Well, this is a little late -- but better late than never, right?

One of my best friends arrived in Chicago just in time for some of the most disgusting weather I have seen to date. Thanks for that, Chicago. Really. Jodee lives in SF so she's used to a little fog. But still -- we could have used some warmer weather. A north face & gloves? Unacceptable. My weather obsession is out of control.

The day after she left we had highs in the 80s. I wore a dress & flip flops. Figures...doesn't it?

 Are you seeing this fog? Gross.
My friend/neighbor Brandon drove me to the airport to get Jodee.
{Wish I had a car but neighbors/friends with cars are the next best thing}
Ordered deep dish from Lou Malnatis.
 Went to a bar with friends.

Lunch at Hub 51
Cloud Gate aka The Bean
Michigan Avenue
Shopping on Armitage in Lincoln Park
A little lounging at the apartment
Dinner at Luxbar

we are the only two people in the bean! amazing.

Massage with C
Lunch at Portillos with C
{Jodee really wanted a Chicago hot dog. I've been here 8 months and still haven't had one}
Dinner at Zocalo with C & Annie
Met up with a few friends at Gilt Bar

Loved having 2 of my bist girls together.
And no. That isn't a typo. Maybe I'll explain someday.
And of course -- they loved each other.

Me, Jodee, Annie & C

Breakfast at Pierro Gourmet with C & Raj
{followed by dessert - a berry tart, strawberry pistachio tart & macaroons}
Shopping on Michigan Avenue
{yes. again.}
Time to go :(

'Twas a lovely weekend with one of my favorite girls.
It went by way too quickly.

  1. Oh how fun! That picture of the two of you in the bean is incredible, just the two of you? At what time did you girls go there?

  2. I think it was mid day? It was SO gross out. There were other people walking around but once they turned the corner I snapped some pics.

  3. That deep dish pizza looks delish!

  4. It looks like y'all had a great time! Love the photos! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a visit to Chicago this summer to visit family. Now I know where to go while I'm there!

  5. Looks like you had a blast with your chicks! Oi really need to visit Chicago, and I dream of that deepbdish pizza!!

  6. I like your hair at this length (it is longer than your About Me picture, right?) You look great!

  7. Looks like you ladies had a fabulous time!

  8. Stephanie,

    Yes, it's longer. I am either cutting it a little shorter or growing it out. I don't know what to do with it!

    Ugh. :)

  9. OMG - all these photos are so fun! Looks like you had a great time :)

  10. By bist...you don't happen to call each other Bisters do you? My best friend and I nicknamed each other this way back in high school. We shorten it to Bist all the time. Crazy if its meaning is the same:)

  11. No...it's just best - but bist. If that even makes sense :)

  12. Oh how I miss the pizza. And Portillo's is my all time favorite. I moved to Arizona in July of 2001 however I typically hit Portillo's at least twice while I'm home even if its a 2-day trip. The bean is fun! I have pics of my Dad and I there. I'll be back during 4th of July weekend to attend a friend's wedding, hit the Taste, and the museums. And of course, visit a bunch of friends and family.

  13. I do not get why so many people love portillos! I don't eat hot dogs so I got a salad. Wasn't a fan.
