I'm in a New York state of mind.

I met Jill at the Newark Airport and we took the train in to the city. We hopped in a cab and headed to the Waldorf Astoria thanks to Jill who had two free nights there. Such a gorgeous hotel!

Lunch at Fig & Olive was so good! I highly recommend this restaurant You can also order their olive oil online.

On our way to the theater.

Friday night, we saw Wicked. It was so much better than I could have imagined. If you are ever in a city where Wicked is playing, you must see it!!! Beautiful, funny, & smart. A phenomenal show!

Everyone told me I'd love NYC & that I'd want to move there, but I had no idea the urge would be this strong. I love Chicago but there is something about NYC. I actually feel a little ache in my heart and long to go back. I have to live there someday, even if only for a few months or a year.

Some folks like to get away
Take a holiday from the neighborhood
Hop a flight to Miami Beach
Or to Hollywood
But I'm taking a Greyhound
On the Hudson River Line

What fun!! I haven't been to nyc in years -- would so love to visit again. Although, I might also feel the urge to move there... it's a great place.

(yay for the Christmas mug ... I am so pumped that Christmas time is coming so soon!)

  3. It's funny to hear other people's perspective. I LOVE Chicago and we want to live there someday. When I went to NYC for the first time people said the same thing, "You're going to love it and want to live there." But, I didn't. I don't like how dirty it is, how big it is, and the overall "fast" feeling of it. I much prefer Chicago's size, the neighborhood feel (even though I was in many of NYC's neighborhoods, they didn't feel the same), and the down-to-Earth Midwest attitude I think Chicago has.

  7. I feel the same way about New York, sometimes I wish I was an American so that I could just move wherever I want without a worry about a visa. grrrr you're so lucky to not have any restrictions.

Did you get to eat at Serendipity? The first time me and Andre went to New York back in '04 we waited 3 hours to be seated but it was sooo worth it.
