I could have a new slipcover made {maybe in a fun print} or I could sell it and get this iron headboard instead. I would probably make money on the deal since the iron one is so inexpensive.
There are some positives to an iron headboard. Cats can't climb it, I believe it would take up a bit less space {not much, but in my teeny tiny apartment every inch of space counts} and I love the look.I am obviously leaning toward the iron one, but would love to know what you all think!
We sold our iron headboard and went with wood. After years with the iron headboard, I was ready for anything but that. I really like the upholstered one - and you could slipcover it if you're looking for a change!

ReplyDeleteI like both - however the padded headboard can be changed. Whimsical, BOLD, soft, girly - you name it you can change the whole feel of your room -with out re-doing it. Think of it as changing your pillow cases seasonally...brighter for summer, cooler for winter....or maybe the iron is better! :)
ReplyDeleteThe grass is always greener...I have had an iron headboard for years and am craving a fabric one, but think the dog fur would stick to it like crazy. With iron, it's just a little dusting.
ReplyDeleteAt this moment - I'm really into iron headboards. Last year, I was obsessed with tufted, upholstered headboards (well, I still like them...yes.)

It won't collect dog/cat hair...and, like you said - cat's can't climb on it (and, you'd make $!)
I just love the look of the iron headboard. I have a (nice) wood headboard now - but I've been wanting an iron one.
I think you should get whatever makes you happy, but I've always wanted an upholstered headboard, so that's my vote :)
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about iron, too! Though I think my interest really stems from affordability. Really like that one :) I can definitely see the downside of the fabric with your cats...sounds frustrating :-/

I like the iron one, BUT we currently have a cream upholstered headboard and I was going to sell it but now am super excited about making a slipcover for it! I like both options, but I'm personally going with the slipcover option...I like that I can change it whenever I want! Good luck deciding!
