My kind of town.

Tuesday, June 15, 2010

The past few days were kind of a blur. Friday night, I went to dinner at Coast, and then a bar/club afterward. I am not much of a drinker, so after 2 glasses of wine and 2 more drinks on top of that, I was a little buzzed. For the most part I {sort of} remember what happened {and nothing happened}. Unfortunately, I remember calling my mother. After 4 drinks. Fortunately, my mom takes these things pretty lightly and thought my call was hilarious.

My mom has decided that we need a code word so once I am living in Chicago I can text her and let her know I am home safely every night. Because that won't get old.

I had my {slightly} hungover apartment tour on Saturday morning, which was especially fun. I walked in, asked if I was allowed to take photos and proceeded to take one photo of the kitchen {the one room that doesn't need any furniture}, didn't measure anything, and left. But I absolutely loved the apartment! The tour was followed by lunch in Bucktown and then a very low key night that consisted of ordering food from Irazu {the vegetarian burrito is so good!} and watching a few episodes of Weeds.

Sunday, I went with a friend and a group of her friends to the Old Town Art Fair. We walked around a little, ordered some {ridiculously overpriced} drinks, got rained on, and saw Vince Vaughn. I should really eat before 2:00, and should probably not have drinks on an empty stomach. Lesson learned.

Then we went here --

I am not a sports fan but had a great time at my first Cubs game! It started to rain, so some random guy let us borrow a Shamu poncho. You will also notice I am wearing 2 different hats. In the first photo, I am wearing the hat I borrowed from my friend, and in the second photo, I am wearing my new Cubs hat. Because I needed one.

Monday, I went to lunch with a friend and walked around downtown a little bit. It was cool and rainy, so I treated myself to a skinny cinnamon dolce latte from Starbucks. It has been forever since I had one. We also went back to the new apartment so I could take measurements and photos.

I am now back in LA. Again. That trip went by way too fast, and I am absolutely exhausted.

  1. You are such a jetsetter these days! So much for that fear of flying ;) That is a good thing though. Friday night sounds like it was a good time and I think it’s sweet that you and your mom are close like that. I can also understand her wanting you to get home safely.

That is very cool that you saw Vince Vaughn at the Art Fair.

The Cubs game looks like you ladies made it a good time despite the rain. Your seats look awesome!

  6. I was in that exact area this past weekend! I had to pick up a packet for a 1/2 marathon in Bucktown and tried to go to the old town art fair, but it was raining too much so my group decided to move on out of the rain! Wish I was looking at places to live in Chicago, I was only up visiting and to run the North Shore Half! Sunday was a great day to run, even though it was dizzily.

You're blog is so fun! I'm passing on the Versatile Blog Award and I picked your blog for my list of 15 blogs to choose. You can check out the award details over on my blog!
